MEP Constructible Workflow: Integrating Accubid with Spectrum ERP
Once you've been awarded the job, it's now time to set it up in ERP. In this video, we will discuss the integration of Accubid to one of Trimble's construction ERP programs. Spectrum Construction Software is a Web based ERP specifically designed for the construction industry. All you need is a browser and an Internet connection, and you're good to go. Let's check it out. Here we are at the dashboard of spectrum. I know that my accounting department has already set the job up and they've assigned a job number to the project.
Now it's time for me to add the estimates and other key job information in spectrum. A job has broken out into phases and cost types. Some folks call these cost codes work, break down structure codes or WBS codes. The process is still the same, regardless of what you call them. Each phase contains an estimate of the work on the project. Here's my job number, so I'm going to click on it and Spectrum will take me to that job in context now to import the file, I'm going to go to properties, import estimates and this on the side there.
That was the info bar. The info bar allows us to navigate throughout the system with a single click instead of having to go to the standard menu system, unable to use the information to navigate around. Notice that the job no defaulted in for me. And I also want to point out that we're importing in the base contract. The workflow that we're going through could also be used to enter in a potential change order. OK, so we're gonna go ahead and click on import, we need to tell Spectrum a little bit more about the job.
It's a fixed price project. I'm going to go ahead, continue. And it's going to ask for the file to upload, and so there is the file that I got from the estimating system and I uploaded into the system. Here is all the information, and so here are my phases, codes, cost codes and the various cost types associated with them. Now, it's important to remember that until we update this, all of the information here can be easily changed.
We all know that estimate. I like to estimate one way and project managers like to manage jobs a different way. You can make those changes here. I just want to point out a couple other features here on this page. If the estimate contained information about subcontracts, we can use it to set up new subcontracts. We could also use it to create the IA schedule of values, billing information. So before we update everything, let's review the numbers.
When I click this magnifying glass here and here, the costs broke down by the various cost types. I verify that my numbers are accurate and now it's time to go ahead and update a click update up here on the command bar. And it asks me again, what is it that I want to update to the system? I answer some questions here, and if I want to set up a subcontracted accounts payable, I set up the contract in H.R., etc.
, I can go ahead and do all of that. If there is a tax and if there's taxes, I can set that up as well. And I can say that, yes, this is indeed a taxable job, so I'm going to go ahead and click continue and it's going to send the information to job cost. And in the event that we had subcontracts and schedule of values, it would set those up as well. So let's go check them out.

This functionality differentiates Accubid and spectrum from all other estimating. Any European software being able to streamline setting up estimates in the AP is just one of the many capabilities of the Trimble MEP constructible workflow.
